SES Ruggedised Computer Solutions

To meet the particular demands of airborne and vehicle computing, Specialist Electronics Services have developed a range of solid state rugged processors. The SES Solid State Data Processor (S3DP) range combines the latest developments in commercial computing power with proven techniques in design for rugged environments.

The S3DP range of rugged computers offers an extremely powerful, fully solid state, processing solution with additional avionic and vehicle bus input and output options.

The S3DP range supports all mainstream operating systems including Windows, Linux and VXWorks. As well as offering extensive functionality and interface capability in the baseline option, the S3DP can be further enhanced with the addition of expansion modules and industry standard XMC and PMC cards.

Extreme Environmental Performance

The S3DP range of rugged computers offers a qualified solution to general purpose computing requirements. S3DP is a fully solid state solution and its qualified environmental performance permits its use in extreme land, naval and aerospace applications. It has a wide operating temperature performance as well as extreme resistance to shock, vibration and acceleration. Packaged in a rugged aluminium enclosure with full water and dust ingress protection, S3DP employs Mil Spec connectors, with feed-through and isolation filtering to achieve high levels of EMC immunity and reduced emission performance.

Qualification test reports can be provided, showing results and evidence to support use on a number of platforms. Where specific environmental qualification tests are required, SES can work with customers to carry out the necessary testing and analysis to release the equipment for direct use on a particular platform.
