S3DP Development
With the S3DP range of data processors, typically SES supplies qualified hardware,
operating system and required drivers, allowing third party development and integration
of dedicated software, producing a complete solution for the end customer.
The variety of software options supported by the S3DP ensure that the product is
equally suitable for a standalone Windows Software application or a complex multi-tasking
real-time system.
Typical applications addressed by customers to date include:
-
Loading: S3DP computers have been used for data loading over Ethernet
and Arinc-429 with Data Input through removable ATA flash and USB drives.
-
Flight Computers: Significant processing, floating point computation
and memory manipulation capability has allowed the S3DP to be employed in general
purpose computing requirements.
-
LRU: Specialist equipment such as datalink processors or protocol
converters use the S3DP as a flight qualified Line Replaceable Unit (LRU).
-
Usage Monitoring: The S3DP has been configured as a Useage monitoring
Device in Land Vehicles, allowing maintenance crew to evaluate the loading scenarios
to which the vehicle has been subjected.
-
Systems Information Exploitation: Within the concept of Generic
Vehicle Architeture, S3DP processors have been selected as compliant processing
modules for the monitoring of onboard systems as well as vehicle components.
-
Display Controllers: Through its ability to interact with a variety
of display types, the S3DP processor has been selected to control the display of
information provided to a pilot or crew during a mission. Provision of Open-GL libraries
has ensured that applications developed using user interfacing prototyping tools
such as VAPSTM can be ported across to a flight qualified platform.
